This is BIG. Hope it works as I am thinking it should.
I implemented policies with a couple of my clients but the Teams retention was a pain in that there was no integrated way to do it. One policy set at the Team level that applies to chat, mail, files. Not deployed to my tenant yet, but sure is interesting and will be checking this out to see how practical it is.
